This workshop is for beginning to advanced singers who want to improve their jazz chops! In this fun and interactive workshop, we’ll learn about swing rhythms, the blues scale, and we’ll do some solo and group improvisation.

The workshop will be followed by a concert/showcase featuring workshop participants with performances by Kris and Celia.  The concert will be open to family and friends.  (A $10 donation is requested for audience admission).  Accompanist provided.

Kris Adams is a Professor at Berklee College of Music and author of Sing Your Way Through Theory.  An inventive and versatile jazz vocalist who has recorded two highly-acclaimed CDs, Adams has performed and taught in the US, Europe and South America.  To find out more visit her website.

Celia Slattery is a jazz and pop singer and songwriter who has performed in venues from Boston to Bangkok.  She teaches in her private studio in Somerville and is an adjunct professor at Salem State University and Lesley University.  Celia’s students are professional stage, club and recording artists, as well as the best shower singers around!

Both Celia and Kris are certified Level III teachers of Somatic Voicework ™ the Lovetri Method.
